Mr. Tormey has over 30 years of experience in product development, marketing, and intellectual property protection. As a company startup veteran, he brings a unique perspective on the value of intellectual property to small and growing businesses. As such, he has counseled numerous clients and regularly lectures to entrepreneurs and business executives on how to protect and leverage IP assets.
Mr. Tormey is the author of the Startup Guide to Intellectual Property, a short primer on IP protection for new businesses.
As a patent attorney, Mr. Tormey has drafted over 100 patent applications covering software, electronics, wireless, radio, mobile applications, encryption, and automation controls. Besides IP litigation, his legal experience includes corporate formation, dissolutions, IP licensing and international transactions.
Mr. Tormey has over 25 years of experience as a design engineer and a successful entrepreneur. He has an MBA in Marketing from St. Mary’s College in California, a BS Electronic Engineering from San Francisco State University (Magna Cum Laude), and a JD from J. F. Kennedy Law School.
